CONVERSION
Conversion means the modification of ships that are in
active service to adapt them to new working conditions.
Take Panamax, for example: through several conversions,
we have made Panamax carriers into new Panamax ships.
Efficiency can be massively increased through widening
and lengthening. In many cases, not only was the capacity
increased but the power source was adapted to new
requirements. An increase in volume while improving
efficiency – conversion is the key.

Whether the installation of electronic components,
streamlining of a bow, or the conversion of the power
source to liquefied gas – in many cases, large or even

MV BARZAN - The world’s largest container ship
TECHNOLOG partners with United Arabic Shipping Company from
design to handover
The MV BARZAN has a capacity of 18,800 TEU. The 400m-long
and 58.6m wide container ship is LNG ready and is one of six
newbuildings of this size built for UASC. Another 11 container ships,
each with a capacity of 15,000 TEU were also built.
For over 30 years, we have been working on behalf of our maritime-industry clients across the globe. As a consulting
